Attorney Ray Bulaon emigrated to the U.S. from the Philippines when he was 16. As a young law student, Ray and his wife struggled financially to make ends meet, especially with a small but growing family. They found themselves overwhelmed with job losses and always-growing, never-ending bills. Thus, Ray knows firsthand what debt feels like, especially when it feel like no one is on your side to protect and fight for your family's financial future.
Ray completed his legal studies and received his Juris Doctorate before passing the California State Bar exam in 1997. He then worked for seven years, first as a paralegal, then as a lawyer, at one of the state’s largest bankruptcy firms. He took the knowledge and experience gained while working there for his own law practice, which he opened in 2001.
Ray is dedicated to helping families and individuals get through tough times. He understands that financial hardship can happen to anyone and that a proactive solution can solve issues long into the future. Rather than wait for things to fix themselves, it is important to get an attorney on your side who knows what you are going through firsthand. Ray will work with you to help you understand your legal options.
Since becoming a lawyer, Ray has successfully represented more than 4,000 individuals and small business owners in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases. He is licensed to practice in both state and U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Central Districts of California.
Ray enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Sarah, and their three children, Jessi, Jake, and Josh. He firmly believes that family is extremely important and always comes first.
